Sabers/blasters

Royal Dawn

Royal Dawn

from $95.00

I’ve been getting a ton or requests for a cross guard style hilt as well as a medieval design so I figured why not bullseye two whomp rats with one pneumatic projectile? I wanted some thing slightly scifi but not too over board paired up with accents that would feel at home dueling in a vast stone castle. Slender and sleek but still feeling like you could crack some skulls if needed.

CONSTRUCTION/CUSTOMIZATION

All my hilts are designed with a steel threaded rod running down the middle for structural stability as well as working with the emitter/pommel(each have a sunken steel bolt) to combine the unit. The ends twist on, allowing the owner to customize the order of the components, their orientation and swap in new parts at any time down the road.(last pic in gallery shows swapped in parts)

WEIGHT = 9.6 oz

LENGTH = 11 inches

WIDTH = 1.25 inches at grip 2.5 at the cross guard

FYI/CYA DISCLAIMER

The following is a fictional break down of the physical features of the hilt. These are the features I envisioned while I was designing it. Sadly the hilt will not actually produce a cutting blade and is made of resin, not metal.)

THE GOODS

Emitter/Shield- A main jet is surrounded by 4 secondary assistant energy ports, designed to pay homage to a castle and its surrounding walls. The outer shield is direct reference to the royalty that wields it.

Switch Assembly - Simple, to the point and frocked with golden accents. Perforated panels allow for air flow across the internals to avoid overheating.

Couplers- My first design to feature 3 ring style couplers. Smaller than the standard design but more numerous, they help to spread the weight across the entire length of the hilt.

Main Grip- Another first for me, a bi-part design. The upper section is leather wrapped titanium, giving the user a supple yet high traction hold, while the bottom grip is made from the finest hardwood harvested from the forest moon of Endor. Control where you need it and comfort to match.

Pommel - A combination gyro stabilization and energy management unit, the top half monitors the performance of the blade and the bottom keeps track of the swing of the weapon. A deadly combo.

OPTIONS - This hilt is available in two forms.

Raw Resin Kit - fresh out of the print vat, will need a small amount of sanding(the beauty of resin printing vs pla, incredibly smooth surfaces right off the printer and super easy to sand. I will give it a once-over and remove any small support burns or uneven surfaces so you’re all ready to prime and paint.

Turn around time - Parts are printed per order and average print time per hilt is 12 to 16 hours. Should ship within 7-10 days of order.

OR!

Premiere Display - This piece will be given my utmost level of attention and detail, sanded, primed and painted. It will come with a certificate of authenticity card which will include the Soupcan13 badge of quality as well as my signature and will include its run number(I plan on doing a total of 200 in this run). My painting process includes, all parts deburred and sanded, priming, airbrushing the base coat, applying color coats, masking and applying secondary detail colors, detail painting, black wash/corrosion wash and finally 3 coats of high quality clear coat to protect from chips, scratches and prevent paint from wearing due to handling.

Turn around time - Parts are painted per order and average paint time per hilt is 6 to 8 hours. Should ship within 15-18 days of order.
