Sabers/blasters

A Promise Kept

A Promise Kept

from $95.00

This one was an incredibly fun customer request. I really enjoyed the Star Wars Vision series and was totally down to design a saber based around one of the hilts featured in the 9th Jedi. I’ve never done a saber with an integrated tassel before so it was fun engineering take attachment point, cover plate, tassel binder and end caps. A very styled hilt design, I wanted it to feel like it could be at home resting on a shelf in an ancient temple for thousands of years.

CONSTRUCTION/CUSTOMIZATION

All my hilts are designed with a steel threaded rod running down the middle for structural stability as well as working with the emitter/pommel(each have a sunken steel bolt) to combine the unit.

WEIGHT = 13 oz

LENGTH = 10” inches(not including tassel)

WIDTH = 1.8” at the widest part of the emitter

FYI/CYA DISCLAIMER

The following is a fictional break down of the physical features of the hilt. These are the features I envisioned while I was designing it. Sadly the hilt will not actually produce a cutting blade and is made of resin, not metal.)

THE GOODS

Emitter/Shield- A dual nested design, a brass 5 port emitter is nestled inside a decorative outer bell shaped emitter shield.

Guard - Simple yet functional, a thin circular brass hand guard rests directly below the emitter assembly.

Switch Assembly - Incredibly spartan in its design, the switch is hidden inside the embossed logo at the hilts main grip.

Couplers- This hilt features a single grid pattern coupler below the main grip.

Main Grip- One of my favorite parts of this design. Petal like brass embellishments boarder the top and bottom of the grip area adding traction as well as decorative grace to the hilt.

Pommel - Here’s where the fun begins(hardy har har) it was really fun designing the anchor point and accessories for the tassel. It basically threads into the pommel and has a cover plate that is attached over that. Really liked how this turned out.

OPTIONS - This hilt is available in two forms.

Raw Resin Kit - fresh out of the print vat, will need a small amount of sanding(the beauty of resin printing vs pla, incredibly smooth surfaces right off the printer and super easy to sand. I will give it a once-over and remove any small support burns or uneven surfaces so you’re all ready to prime and paint.

Turn around time - Parts are printed per order and average print time per hilt is 12 to 16 hours. Should ship within 7-10 days of order.

OR!

Premiere Display - This piece will be given my utmost level of attention and detail, sanded, primed and painted. It will come with a certificate of authenticity card which will include the Soupcan13 badge of quality as well as my signature and will include its run number(I plan on doing a total of 200 in this run). My painting process includes, all parts deburred and sanded, priming, airbrushing the base coat, applying color coats, masking and applying secondary detail colors, detail painting, black wash/corrosion wash and finally 3 coats of high quality clear coat to protect from chips, scratches and prevent paint from wearing due to handling.

Turn around time - Parts are painted per order and average paint time per hilt is 6 to 8 hours. Should ship within 15-18 days of order.
