Sabers/blasters

Binary Suns

Binary Suns

from $150.00

This is my first attempt at a “mini staff” style double emitter hilt. It was a ton of fun to design, the main challenge was adding details to both sides and keeping the flow of what’s basically a mirrored image. I wanted the emitters, shields and guards to be identical but to have different feels in the switch arrays. Really happy with how this came out.

CONSTRUCTION/CUSTOMIZATION

All my hilts are designed with a steel threaded rod running down the middle for structural stability as well as working with the emitter/pommel(each have a sunken steel bolt) to combine the unit. The ends twist on, allowing the owner to customize the order of the components, their orientation and swap in new parts at any time down the road.(last pic in gallery shows swapped in parts)

WEIGHT = 14.7 oz

LENGTH = 13” inches

WIDTH = 1.5 inches at grip 3” at the guard

FYI/CYA DISCLAIMER

The following is a fictional break down of the physical features of the hilt. These are the features I envisioned while I was designing it. Sadly the hilt will not actually produce a cutting blade and is made of resin, not metal.)

THE GOODS

Emitters/Shields- Extra heavy duty, with both an external emitter shield as well as an internal perforated sleeve for cooling, a main ignition jet surrounded by 4 secondary ports and 4 stabilizing vents.

Guards - One on each side, thick brass hand guards protect the user at both ends of the hilt.

Switch Assemblies-The upper switch features two buttons, one for ignition and a shut off, the lower switch features a pressure plate for ignition of the second blade.

Couplers- No time for couplers or spacers on this big girl

Main Grip- Wanted a bit of contrast to the heavily machined industrial feel to the rest of this hilt, went with a smooth detailed wooden grip inlayed with gold accents.

Pommel - None, this war machine deals out beatings from both ends.

OPTIONS - This hilt is available in two forms.

Raw Resin Kit - fresh out of the print vat, will need a small amount of sanding(the beauty of resin printing vs pla, incredibly smooth surfaces right off the printer and super easy to sand. I will give it a once-over and remove any small support burns or uneven surfaces so you’re all ready to prime and paint.

Turn around time - Parts are printed per order and average print time per hilt is 12 to 16 hours. Should ship within 7-10 days of order.

OR!

Premiere Display - This piece will be given my utmost level of attention and detail, sanded, primed and painted. It will come with a certificate of authenticity card which will include the Soupcan13 badge of quality as well as my signature and will include its run number(I plan on doing a total of 200 in this run). My painting process includes, all parts deburred and sanded, priming, airbrushing the base coat, applying color coats, masking and applying secondary detail colors, detail painting, black wash/corrosion wash and finally 3 coats of high quality clear coat to protect from chips, scratches and prevent paint from wearing due to handling.

Turn around time - Parts are painted per order and average paint time per hilt is 6 to 8 hours. Should ship within 15-18 days of order.
