Sabers/blasters

Wasp on the Wind

Wasp on the Wind

from $95.00

Ultra light weight and perfectly balanced, the Wasp was designed to flow across the users palm, it’s thin grip and nimble build allow it to slice and weave like few other sabers. It has a rare exotic visual design, beauty and the beast wrapped up in one package. What it lacks in heft and battery life it makes up for in speed, agility and conceal ability. This hilt is perfect for hiding under robes or cutting down on carry weight.

CONSTRUCTION/CUSTOMIZATION

All my hilts are designed with a steel threaded rod running down the middle for structural stability as well as working with the emitter/pommel(each have a sunken steel bolt) to combine the unit. The ends twist on, allowing the owner to customize the order of the components, their orientation and swap in new parts at any time down the road.

WEIGHT = 8.95 oz

LENGTH = 11.125 inches

WIDTH = 1 inches at grip 1.5 widest part of switch

FYI/CYA DISCLAIMER

The following is a fictional break down of the physical features of the hilt. These are the features I envisioned while I was designing it. Sadly the hilt will not actually produce a cutting blade and is made of resin, not metal.)

THE GOODS

Emitter/Shield- A mono construction emitter, made completely out of high conductive copper. This build sport a singular emitter jet with 9 ports for air induction. Three centering prongs surround the main port with a focus ring suspended between them. This allows for a thin, leather and quick igniting blade.

Switch Assembly - One of the most sleek and organic switch assemblies I’ve designed. I was inspired by the main body of predatory insects. An ultra simple slide switch and ignition button. No extra fancy buttons, just the ones that matter.

Couplers- The most aggressive component of this assembly. Selected for the extra traction they give either a leading upper hand, a lower grip or a combo of both. Treaded alloy that assists with tricky maneuvers and traction when you need it.

Main Grip- Fluted copper with titanium hardware and etched scalloping for a gentle but reassuring purchase on the hilt. Ultra light and ultra deadly.

Pommel - Copper and steel composite construction. Giving the perfect counter balance to the top half of the saber or a firm point of contact if one wants to choose an extremely low hold point on the hilt.

OPTIONS - This hilt is available in two forms.

Raw Resin Kit - fresh out of the print vat, will need a small amount of sanding(the beauty of resin printing vs pla, incredibly smooth surfaces right off the printer and super easy to sand. I will give it a once-over and remove any small support burns or uneven surfaces so you’re all ready to prime and paint.

Turn around time - Parts are printed per order and average print time per hilt is 12 to 16 hours. Should ship within 7-10 days of order.

OR!

Premiere Display - This piece will be given my utmost level of attention and detail, sanded, primed and painted. It will come with a certificate of authenticity card which will include the Soupcan13 badge of quality as well as my signature and will include its run number(I plan on doing a total of 200 in this run). My painting process includes, all parts deburred and sanded, priming, airbrushing the base coat, applying color coats, masking and applying secondary detail colors, detail painting, black wash/corrosion wash and finally 3 coats of high quality clear coat to protect from chips, scratches and prevent paint from wearing due to handling.

Turn around time - Parts are painted per order and average paint time per hilt is 6 to 8 hours. Should ship within 15-18 days of order.
