I’ve made a handful of tops, they are always a challenge. There is the visual design of the item, and most importantly does it actually spin!?
These two are a perfect yin and yang, the emblem of the Rebelion with Luke’s light saber as the spinning handle, and on the other side, Vader’s light saber teamed up with the seal of the Empire. I had a ton of fun working on these and eventually altered the design to accommodate a magnetized steel ball bearing as the spinning point. This gives the top an almost friction-less spin.
